Alaska Wildtrek Adventures

Your Guide and Tour Service to Explore the Best of Alaska
in the remote Wilderness

deutsch
From the Arctic Ocean to the Gulf of Alaska, from the wild valleys of the Brooks Range to the volcanoes of the "Pacific Ring of Fire", ALASKA WILDTREK invites you to explore Alaska's most scenic wilderness areas. Join us to paddle along a river, to trek over lofty mountain ridges and through arctic tundra or to ride more leisurely in a van along the scenic highways. And most of all travel comfortably in a small group. The various tours are from easy to difficult. ALASKA WILDTREK is offering professional guiding since 1982.

River Journeys/Trekking: Our river trips are done either by canoe or raft. All rivers are easy or of moderate difficulties and everybody, fit and in good health and willing to live the simple life of a wilderness traveller can participate. Many of the river journeys include one or more day hikes. No previous experience is necessary.

Hiking/Trekking: Hiking along established trails or hiking from a Base Camp are a more leisurely way to discover Alaska's wilderness than backpacking or trekking. For those who love to climb mountains by ski or snowshoes we offer a special ski touring and mountain climbing program.

Photography and Location Scouting: Our trips offer excellent opportunities for nature photography. ALASKA WILDTREK is owned and operated by Chlaus Lotscher, who also works as a professional nature photographer. His pictures appear regularly in many publications worldwide. With his experience ALASKA WILDTREK also offers location scouting and guiding for photographers, videographers and filmmakers.

Custom trips: ALASKA WILDTREK plans, organises, outfits and guides customised trips for groups, families or businesses. You let us know what you want to do, where you want to travel, we do the rest. If you intend to travel in Alaska on your own, we are pleased to help you with planning, reservations of Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts or excursions and car or motorhome rentals. Our guests  enjoy the outdoors, are excited to discover the natural lands of Alaska in an active way by boating a remote river, by trekking or more leisurely on van tours mixed with hiking. Age is not the limit rather the spirit and the enthusiasm for travelling in small groups and for discovering the obvious and the often hidden beauty of Alaska's vast natural lands. Our guests love nature, appreciate the simple life of a wilderness traveller, or on van tours, the comfort of a cosy cabin after an exciting day of exploring or hiking.

ALASKA WILDTREK was founded by Chlaus Lotscher who moved to Alaska from his native Switzerland permanently in 1980. His first visit however was back in 1968, when he came to climb mountains. In 1972 he was a member of an archaeological research team working on excavations on Saint Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea. Many visits followed. Chlaus and his guides are happy to share their extensive knowledge about Alaska with the guests and hope to give each one a deeper understanding of and an appreciation for Alaska and its natural lands.
